## Course Description

This course provides an in-depth exploration of defensive security principles, technologies, and countermeasures critical for protecting information systems. It encompasses a broad spectrum of defensive mechanisms, including firewalls, vulnerability scanners, and intrusion detection systems. To reinforce the application of these concepts, the course integrates a variety of practical projects, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively implement and manage security measures across different computing environments.

Students will be charged an additional Comp Science Lab Fee when enrolling in this course. Prerequisite(s): CS 3800 with at least a C-.
